The company trades as 2EP Zemin İnşaat Sanayi Ticaret Ltd. Şti. Master Builders Solutions lists us as an applicator dealer for its flooring systems.

Many of our jobs come through main contractors. On the airport in Sint Maarten we worked for Ballast Nedam; on the mall in Karbala for Al Qalab Cons.; on Çamlıca Mosque in Istanbul for Güryapı. On projects like these, the floor package usually runs inside the main contractor's programme, to its method statements and site rules, and is handed over to its client for sign-off.

What we install

  • Epoxy terrazzo: seamless decorative floors for terminals, malls, hospitals, hotels, offices and places of worship
  • Polyurethane concrete: heavy-duty floors for production, food processing, cold stores and defence-industry plants
  • Antistatic, self-levelling and multi layer epoxy systems for electronics, laboratories and workshops
  • Shot blasting floor preparation, which opens the slab surface so resin systems bond to it

If you are an architect or a project manager outside Türkiye, the pages in this English section cover the two systems we are asked about most from abroad, and the projects that back them up.

Epoxy terrazzo flooring for terminals, malls, mosques and hospitals

Epoxy terrazzo flooring is a thin, seamless layer of epoxy resin filled with marble, granite, glass or mother-of-pearl aggregate, poured on site and ground to a smooth finish. It is laid without grout joints over large areas, takes almost any colour and pattern, and stands up to the foot traffic of a terminal or a mall concourse.

A typical build is a primer, a crack-isolation membrane where the slab needs one, then the terrazzo layer itself, usually around 6 to 10 mm thick depending on the system and aggregate size. Metal or plastic divider strips set out the pattern and separate colour fields. The floor is then ground, grouted to fill pinholes, polished and sealed.

Why specifiers choose it

  • Large seamless areas with no grout lines to collect dirt
  • Freedom of colour, aggregate and pattern, including logos and inlays
  • High resistance to abrasion and impact, and good chemical resistance
  • A dense, non-porous surface that is easy to clean, which suits hospitals
  • A thin, light build that suits upper floors and refurbishments

We have laid epoxy terrazzo in a cruise port, a mosque, three hospitals, several malls and hotels, offices and private homes. The full system description, the application steps and the factors that drive the price are on our epoxy terrazzo flooring page.

We also lay pharma terrazzo, a seamless granite-look epoxy mortar used in pharmaceutical plants and showrooms. It is a separate system from epoxy terrazzo, listed in our Turkish range as Epoksi granit görünüm, and we have laid it at the customer centre and vehicle delivery showroom of MAN Türkiye, Ankara, and at Arven İlaç's factory in Kırklareli.

Polyurethane concrete flooring for production and defence

Polyurethane concrete flooring is a trowelled or self-levelling floor made of polyurethane resin, cement and graded aggregate. It handles forklift traffic, hot washdown, thermal shock and aggressive chemicals, which is why food plants, chemical works and heavy production floors use it.

The material is solvent-free and water-based, cures fast and bonds to concrete with higher residual moisture than most epoxies accept. That makes it a practical choice on new-build plants where the programme leaves little time for the slab to dry. The surface can be left textured for slip resistance in wet areas and cleaned with pressurised hot water or steam.

Defence-industry experience

In our experience, defence-industry projects in Türkiye mostly specify polyurethane concrete and antistatic epoxy. Production halls take PU concrete; electronics and explosive-handling rooms take antistatic epoxy that carries static charge to earth through copper busbars. For Sun İnşaat we laid the antistatic epoxy at Aselsan's Macunköy site in Ankara.

Where we have laid it

  • Dalotürk İnşaat: PU concrete floor, Süleymaniye–Kirkuk, Iraq
  • Türk Traktör: CKD building, Ankara
  • Balaban İnşaat: DHMİ (General Directorate of State Airports Authority), Ankara
  • Polyurethane concrete for Aselsan and MAN Türkiye

Thickness, temperature range and chemical resistance depend on the product and the build, so the system is sized to each floor. As a general range, PU concrete is typically 4 to 6 mm thick in flowable grades and 6 to 9 mm in trowelled heavy-duty grades; the figure varies with the system. The system, its uses and a comparison with epoxy are set out on our polyurethane concrete page.

International epoxy terrazzo and PU concrete references

Our work outside Türkiye spans an international airport in the Caribbean, a shopping mall and road line marking and wayfinding in Karbala, and an industrial floor at Süleymaniye–Kirkuk, Iraq. Each of these jobs was carried out for a main contractor.

Princess Juliana International Airport, Sint Maarten

We laid epoxy terrazzo in the terminal at Princess Juliana International Airport for Ballast Nedam. An airport floor has to look right on opening day and keep looking right under rolling luggage, cleaning machines and constant footfall, and work has to fit around a live construction programme.

Al-Afaf Mall, Karbala, Iraq

For Al Qalab Cons. we installed epoxy terrazzo across the Al-Afaf Mall in Karbala. Malls are a typical use for epoxy terrazzo, since concourses take heavy foot traffic and machine cleaning every day. For the same contractor we also applied road line paint and traffic direction markings in Karbala.

Other jobs abroad

  • Dalotürk İnşaat: polyurethane concrete floor, Süleymaniye–Kirkuk, Iraq
  • Detay Yapı: multi layer textured epoxy and polyurethane liquid membrane waterproofing, Karbala, Iraq
  • OBD Construction: self-levelling epoxy, Kandahar, Afghanistan

Working abroad adds questions a local job does not raise: material lead times, customs, climate on the day of the pour, and who on site signs off each stage. These are usually agreed with the main contractor before mobilisation. Details of each job are on our projects page.

Systems we install

  • Epoxy terrazzo (Epoksi terrazzo kaplama) and polyurethane concrete (Poliüretan beton)
  • Antistatic epoxy (Antistatik kaplama) for electronics and explosive areas
  • Self-levelling, multi layer and textured epoxy (Self-levelling kaplama, Multi layer kaplama, Tekstürlü kaplama)
  • Epoxy mortar, laminated epoxy and granite-look epoxy (Mortar grano kaplama, Laminasyonlu kaplama, Epoksi granit görünüm)
  • Polymer industrial screed and epoxy coating (Polimer endüstriyel şap, Epoksi coating)
  • PU self-levelling, sports floors and road line paint (Poliüretan self-levelling, Spor zemin kaplama, Yol çizgi boyaları)
  • Shot blasting floor preparation (Zemin hazırlık)

Industrial clients

Our older reference lists name self-levelling epoxy at Aselsan Macunköy and Akyurt, chemical-resistant floors in the printed-circuit area at Aselsan Macunköy, multi layer textured epoxy in the MAN Türkiye paint shop, and self-levelling floors for Vilsan İlaç, Arma İlaç and İstem Medikal. Henkel's Hasanoğlan plant, the TCDD Hasanbey logistics base in Eskişehir and Bursaspor's Timsah Arena stadium are also on the list.

The detail pages for these systems are in Turkish for now. As a rule of thumb, self-levelling epoxy suits dry, clean production and storage areas; multi layer and textured epoxy add slip resistance and thickness for workshops and ramps; epoxy mortar takes heavier impact; and PU concrete takes over where heat, washdown or aggressive chemicals are involved.

How a resin floor project usually runs

Resin floor projects generally follow the same order: survey, system choice, samples where needed, substrate preparation, installation and handover. The order is much the same for a villa and for an airport; the logistics around it differ.

  1. Survey and drawings. We review the floor plans, the slab specification and the intended use, and where possible arrange a site visit. Moisture, strength and flatness readings should decide what preparation the floor needs.
  2. System choice. The system is matched to the load, the chemicals, the temperature and the design, and we discuss the options with you. For terrazzo, that includes the aggregate, the colour fields and the divider layout.
  3. Sample. For decorative floors, approval samples are usually prepared so the architect and client can confirm colour and aggregate before material is ordered in bulk.
  4. Preparation. The slab is shot blasted or ground to open the surface, then cracks and joints are repaired.
  5. Installation. Primer, membrane where needed, the main layer, then grinding and sealing for terrazzo or a finishing coat for PU concrete.
  6. Handover. The facility team should receive cleaning and maintenance guidance for the system installed.

Before any resin goes down, the slab itself has to be right. As a general guide, resin floors need concrete that is sound and free of laitance, dry enough for the chosen system, and flat to the tolerance the finish demands. Cracks and movement joints are mapped so the floor design can follow them, and any rising damp is dealt with first, since moisture pushing up through a slab is a common cause of blistering.

Resin floors are sensitive to temperature and humidity while they cure, so the area has to be closed to other trades and kept within the manufacturer's limits during installation. These conditions are normally agreed with the main contractor at the start, so the programme reflects them. Typical limits cover air and slab temperature, relative humidity and the dew point, because condensation on a curing resin surface can leave it cloudy or tacky.

What to include

  • Floor area and number of levels, with plans if you have them
  • Country, city and site address, and the target start date
  • Use of the space: terminal, retail, hospital, production, cold store, clean room
  • Slab age and condition, with photos of the existing floor

  • For industrial floors: loads, chemicals, temperatures and cleaning method

Our office is at Akşemsettin Mah., Polatlı 1. Cad. 34/b, Sincan, Ankara, Türkiye. You can also use the form on our contact page, which is in Turkish.

Pricing depends on area, substrate condition, thickness, system, colour and aggregate, site conditions and the timeline, so we quote each project on its own drawings rather than from a price list. When you compare offers from more than one epoxy terrazzo contractor, check that each one prices the same build: layer thickness, membrane, aggregate type and size, divider strips, and the final sealer. Two offers for the same area can describe quite different floors.
